I got to payment screen and transaction cancelled
got through to the number and the price is incorrect - there technical team are sorting it out.
is it not true that you can demand good for the price you have seen them advertised, anyone??
I dont think this has ever been the case. Most companies would only do this as a good will gesture. Apparently an advert is only an offer of acceptance and does not form a contract in any way. Only once monies have changed hands is the offer binding.
No, its a common misconception. They can simply offer it to you at the normal price and you can refuse to buy it. If the transaction has been processed hoever I think its a different story.
Looks like they pulled the plug on the transaction part of their site first to save them.
Oh I got a confirmation email of order but it was blank
Do you remember the IPAQ deals on Amazon a few years back. They were doing £250 and £400 pdas for something like £25 and £40. I bought one of each and received confirmation but Amazon's policy states that they can cancel the transaction up until the point that the money is taken out of your account I believe, which is when they post it. I did hear of a couple of people getting them but they may just be urban legends. They would have never copped on if the fat cats in london offices hadn't started ordering 400 per order. Greedy greedy.
So if anybody sees these kinds of offers, remember, only buy one or two (but still tell the rest of us)
Yep - same here transaction cancelled
Well it said transaction cancelled but I then had an invoice on the screen and emailed through to me so it seems the money has been taken out of my account.
What are the chances of me getting one really?
Just because you receive the invoice, that doesn't mean the money has been physically taken out of you account does it?
I suppose it will all come down to the fine print in their policy. Good luck!!
web site is down for maintenance now anyway for an hour...... whats the odds the price will be more realistic in an hour
Exactly! I ordered two, hoping they'd get to me, but knowing I'd not be too disappointed if they didn't - it was a clear pricing error after all!
Anyway I then read/heard something about somebody ordering 40 and threatening legal action because the ordered was cancelled.
Always one I guess (person not IPAQ!)
Well i ordered 5 first thing this morning when i started this thread, here's the email i got back which was titled Diamondsource Ltd - Sales Confirmation:

Yep, got same reply in an order for 4 of the screens, states I should received them in 1-2 working days- fingers crossed but not certain at all I'll get them
They are only the 640x480 versions though.
Damn, maybe i'll send them back then
Hey, I've got one on order!
Just wanted to mention it.
Had a reply from Peter Machado at diamondsource saying
"I am afraid to inform you that there has been a fault on the site which resulted the site showing items that where not in stock and at the wrong price this problem has now been fixed.
Unfortunately we are unable to process your order due to these problems."
Shame, it was fun while it lasted!
Yeah right, not in stock.
What happens to my earmarked funds now then?
Do a search for Tesco and the Gamecube Pokemon black bundle. They got their price wrong on the web, most of us that ordered got them for £33 instead of £120. It took a bit of complaining (and also a mention on BBC's Watchdog!) but a precedent has been set....Good luck
I'm not doing that, I took a chance on a mistake but will not try to punish them for it.
That would be low. Everyone knew it was a mistake who ordered.
Totally agree, its ok chancing your arm but no point sticking the knife in when you know someone has made a mistake.
I don't feel guilty about the £33 gamecube from Tesco. It's not often you get a bargain in this country
