    Hi

I'm considering upgrading from my Sony VPL-CX1 to something like a Barco 801s.

Is there anyone who could offer any basic advice, like if I'd notice significant differences in quality or noise etc.

    Thanks

    Dave

LCD projectors have a button that is incorrectly labled "brightness". It should be called "Make it worse";) .
On a CRT it makes the black areas, well......Black.

The fans on an 801s should be one of the quietest of any projector but lets hear from some actual owners.

Can't vouch for the CX1 but my Barco 801s does not sound as loud as the Sony 10Ht I had. The fans in the Barco are more muted (slower rotation?). Once a movie is playing you won't notice the noise anyway so don't worry.

Its getting to the point with me that I have to actually listen to hear the fan noise - they tend to just fade into the background.

    YMMV

    @ Paul

Its the 801s I'm interested in - are you happy with it?
