    HI,

I just bought A Toshiba 37CV505D on account of how clear the picture looked on display in the shop.

A world of difference here at home though, I have It hooked via scart plug to a (pretty old) satellite recieiver and I'm wondering If this explains the muggy and blurred images, hardly a step up from my old CRT telly. I'm sure this is not a question of fiddling with the settings.

Do I need a Sat receiver with HDMI output in order to get the full benefit of my TV, and would swapping scart for HDMI leads really make such a big difference? It's a bit of a waste If you only get a knockout picture thru DVD players and the like..

Not a tech-head so thanks in advance,

    Cheers.

The shop was probabaly showing an HD feed either off air or from a blu-ray player.
You are trying to compare this to an SD source. Rubbish in = Rubbish out I'm afraid.
