What is the point LCD provide more than 1920 x 1080 pixels?

If we watch HD, the max we can get is 1920 x 1080 for HD...

Have you seen any LCD TV with resolution more then 1920*1080.

For computer LCDs it is useful; you get more of working desktop.

For very large screens....70inches and over, I think an increase in pixels would at least enable you to sit closer....this will also apply to smaller screens, ie, the 30inch PC monitors, however, 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 is an enormous number of pixels for TV's up to 50inches in size.
