My church has an LCD project with a vga cable run about 125 feet. When we connect a laptop thru this cable we get a good picture. But, every time we connect a desk top we get flickers. We've tried changing refresh rates and resolution. This made little or no difference. Is there something different about laptop video cards? Our desktop is using a 64meg tnt card. Can anyone help?jhoga@salisburync.gov

Assuming it isn't refresh-rate related, as your experiments seem to show, my guess would be that the laptop has a more powerful output stage, 125' is a looooong run for a VGA cable, I'd suspect the TNT just can't drive a signal that distance.

Can you try a shorter cable just to check this theory?
