Hi I have the Samsung LE32R51 and I know that when switching the power off at the set it just goes into standbye mode not power off completely as in my previous TV's.
    Two questions...
    1. Is this standard for LCD's?
    2. If i switch it off at the mains to conserve power overnight (for Instance) does this lose the settings etc so that I have to reset everything inluding channels at each power up??????

    Thanks :)

I don't know not having owned one but any I have seen........yes.
One I came across had the mains power switch mounted at the rear.

Why don't you try it and see?........a cheap poorly designed model will....a better quality one won't.

    Thanks.
Tried it and it appeared to just come on where it left off.
It's a pain though having to unplug it each night. :(
