    hi there
looking for some basic advise from you folks
my 50" samsung plasma that i bought only 3 years ago has packed in and i am needing to replace it
when i was buying the tv above i came here and got some sound advice that seen me right so im back for more
first off heres what im looking for
    something 40" or above
    under £450
basic family room tv for use with a bog standard sky box not HD

    pretty basic requirements
the main question i have is that i was told 3 years ago that if you go above 37" then you are better off getting a plasma - is this still the case or are the lcd ok above 37" these days?
i have seen some cheap deals on 40" lcds
    a Polaroid P40LCD12 for £287.00
    and a Technika 40-271 40"LCD for £248.00
    and a Celcus LCD40S913FHD for £249.99
best offer on a plasma i could find was
    LG42PA4500 for £319.99

any help would be greatly apreciated
