Hi I have just bought my first LCD which is a Panasonic TX26LX70D and generally I am really happy with it. I have one small query. When watching films that are in letterbox format I can see a thin band of brighter pixels at the top and bottom of the picture. This is not present in full frame as it is hidden by the frame of the TV. Can anyone tell me if this normal with LCD TV's and if so what causes it?

Not normal, get it checked out, could be a can of worms slowly opening.

Perhaps I did not describe it very well. The horizontal bands are translucent and approx 5mm wide. They are at the top and bottom of the picture where the picture meets the horizontal bars. Any ideas please
