    Hi,

I'm looking into purchasing an 42" LCD or Plasma screen tv but I don't know which would be best.
It wouuld be used mainly for PS3, Blu-Ray DVD's & watching sport.
I'm happy to spend around £1,000 on the tv.
Can anybody recommend which is better (LCD or Plasma) & which make/model would most suit my needs?

    Thanks in advance.

    Neil

    A rundown for you:

    PS3 - LCD

    Blu-Ray DVD's - LCD

watching sport - Plasma slightly over LCD although there is hardly anything in it now.

    Thanks for that guys.

    LCD it is then.

The Samsung would be too expensive. I should have phrased my original post better, sorry.
£1000 would be the maximum I would be able to spend & I'm looking to get a 40" or bigger tv?
    Any other models?

So the Samsung 40M87 or the new Sony 40D3500 in two months. But there is a lower price for the Samsung 40F86 for 1040£.Give the 40£ more and you wont regret it!!!

Bearing in mind that this is a personal opinion, although one backed up by my own (possibly flawed) research, the largest screen size I'd buy an LCD at is 37". Anything above that and I'd go for a plasma
