    My friend has dilemma:

Either to go for a 32 inch Sony LCD which is high definition ready but with percieved inferior picture quality or a panasonic 37inch plasma whose picture is great but is not High Definition compatible.

If it makes any differance he watches a lot of sport!

Due to his CRT breaking John Lewis have given him the full cost of the TV to put towards a new one and the Panasonic and sony models are what JL recommend in his price bracket

Can anyone add anything that will help him make up his mind

    Cheers

Forget Sony LCD TV and plasma poor picture quality.
Hiatchi has realesed an impressive LCD TV : Hitachi 32LD7200 32in LCD TV Reviewed in June 2005 by WHC.
I've seen it and the picture quality is incredible/perfect with digital source (TNT french mpeg2 with RGB anolog signal is excellent but a bit pixellised) than anything released before and the horizontal angle of vision is better that any plasma display !!!
    Sound is amazing too.
