    I am looking for a 26" LCD

I really like the ones with a black frame around the screen and have come up with a shortlist of 3.

I am looking to spend about £800

    JVC L726C50BU
    SAMSUNG LE26A41B
    LG RZ26L750

I really have no idea on connectivity etc and am looking to futureproof therefore require HD capability.

Could anyone help me with what to look for or any other alternatives.
    :lease:

    Thanks

It may be £100 above your budget, but you can pick up black Sharp 26GA3Es around, for about £900. Theyre excellent and very nice to look at.

    Thanks guys

If i were to go for the Samsung LE26R41B-

And i was only going to connect sky+ and a dvd player/VCR combi

how would i get the best out of the screen connections wise.

would the dvd/vcr combi (still to be bought) have to have any special connections.

(i really dont understand all the inputs/outputs)

    Thanks again

I am quite new to this, so forgive me if I get some stuff wrong!

It all depends on what connections you have! If your DVD/VCR has component (RGB- 3 small circular plugs coloured red green and blue) then you will get the best picture from that. The samsung manual recommened then connecting the Sky+ to the DVD/VCR player so they are both connected via component.

Also, the new SkyHD will connect through the Samsung's HDMI/DVI socket, so that is something to bear in mind, that will give you amazing images!

I am currently considering the Samsung too, but there is also the Samsung 26LER41BD which has an integrated iDTV tuner, I am not sure if this is better then the 26LER41B with a Freeview box, it is more expensive!

Please let us know if you get the Samsung, and how you get on, they look so nice!

Best way of connecting it (in my view) is using good quality rgb scart cables to go from the Sky+ box, into the DVD/VCR combi and then out to the LCD to the RGB enabled scart socket.

I have my Sky+ going via gold scart cable into my Philips HDRW720, then out to my Sharp 26GA3E, and by doing this it enables the wide screen switching.

As it is, Sky's signal and the bit rate of Sky Digital is clearly evident whichever method you decide to use, so going via Scart using good cables is the way to go until SkyHD comes around.
