Err, yes, I think you're right! :D ......Every couple of days there's the same(ish) question.....Try a search through the forum, everyone has a different personal opinion.

I have a "cheapo" Bush 17" LCD for the bedroom, but it does exactly what I want it to....For £600 you should get a decent set, depends on your size requirement.

hello - i would recommend you get the sharp 22" widescreen, its 599 from richer sounds, good value. if you decided to spend less you can get a 17" philips widescreen for 499.

thanks Beno...I actually went to Richer Sounds yesterday to take a look at the Sharp...expectations were high but to be honest, it just 'looks' too small compared to it's non-widescreen counterparts. Although they do have quite a nice looking LG 20" reduced from 450 to 380 or a Beko 20" at 399

any thought on these? i noticed today that John Lewis are doing the LG at 519...

    Buy the 17" wide Phillips ! (PF9945 i think?)

Its a great set, and you get a radio and sleep/wake-up timer!

And at www.unbeatable.co.uk its only £449!

and thats a lot of change out of your budget for a great looking set!

    Merry Xmas

I would certainly recommend the Toshiba 17WLT46 17" widescreen LCD which also comes with integrated tuner (FreeView) so you get approx 30 channels without the need for a seperate box. I've seen these go on the internet in the region of £490 - £540 and i know that it's been highly rated by "What Hi-Fi?" magazine.

Also another to consider would be either the Toshiba 17WLTD46 or LG KZ-17LZ23 which both feature integrated DVD players (extremely handy for the bedroom). The Tosh should be available by mid Jan but the LG i've seen on the net for a very resonable £549.99.

Hope this is of some help!

The picture in yesterday's paper shows a different model (in silver) to the German Aldi site.

Must admit the one on Aldi's UK website does not look as good as the German one. Looks a different model to me

The size of the German Aldi screen is completely different too. No way is it the same model, therefore I would ignore the specs on the German site.
