I've got a really old LCD TV in the front room. It's over 8 years old, but it's always been a really good picture (friends have commented that's better than their more expensive TV's). Don't laugh, but it's one of those Ebuyer one's from when they either bought, or created the Foen & Hersch brand. However over the last couple of years, this strange dark cloudiness has appeared on both sides of the screen, starting right at the edge. It's not straight lines, it just looks like something is leaking onto the screen. It's worse when the background colour is darker. I've tried to take a photo of it, but with the camera on my phone it's not that easy, and I'm no David Bailey (for the older readers among you). Is the TV moving towards being toast?. I can't work out how to insert the photo of the screen either. And I've probably posted this in the wrong forum, sorry about that.

Probably ageing backlight tubes which may or may not be replaceable by a technician.
