    Hi all,

Got my PC hooked up to my screen and noticed that it's running at 60Hz. Is this going to be a problem when viewing PAL material running at 50Hz ? I try forcing the clock with Nvidia's display manager but to no avail.

It really depends on how sensitive you are to judder in pans. I've sat watching a PAL DVD on a 60 Hz display with friends that don't notice any judder at all when I'm viewing the same video thinking that this is very annoying. Your mileage will vary so it's worth checking out for youself, I wouldn't listen to ppl that say it's overly distracting automatically.

If 50Hz doesn't work you may have luck with 75 so give that a try (my 32WLT58 is happy at 75). I've found that you have to fight a little with the nVidia drivers to get the exact settings for you set.

Try downloading Powerstrip which allows you to use custom resolutions/refresh rates.

I find the micro-stutter caused by viewing PAL @60Hz very annoying.

Thanks, didn't think of 75. Haven't ripped any DVD's on to it yet so will check it out over the weekend.

Downloaded a couple of the WMVHD clips though. Very nice !

    Richie.
