    Arrgghhhh,

There's me trying to work out what to go for; Plasma or LCD yet I can't even work out what on earth is going on with Sharp Model numbers. Could someone please clear this up for me?

I have been looking at the LC37GD1E (and the LC45GD1E, assuming my lottery numbers come up) apart from colour, external media box and 1(?) DVI port what is the difference between this and the other (bottom speaker) models as mentioned in this thread?

    Thanks, Andy.

Lets take LC37GD1E and LC37GA3E as examples.

The 37 is obviously the size.
G means G series, ie currently the latest variations
D means digital tuner, A means analogue tuner
Now the next digit works as follows:
Odd means speakers at bottom, even means speakers at side.
1,2 means external media box plus all the bits that go with it - media readrer etc
    3,4,5,6? means no media box
    3,4 removerable speakers, DVI
5,6? don't have this but have tuner.
