Lazy sub

hi guys.....

not sure if theres much else I can do about this problem but thought I'd give it a go.

Have a Velodyne VX-10 Sub which keeps going off when the volume is too low (-50db) on my amp if that means anything to anyone.

The volume is still reasonable but the sub goes off. Have to pump the volume and then turn it down every 8mins.

I have no auto switch on the sub, I also have the Y connector for higher gain.

Increased the amps Sub out to +3db but that doesn't seem to help either.

any suggestions.....

bob1,

thanks for the reply....

still v pleased with the sub. just sub switch off is the prob...

my amps a harmon kardon 507. i'll try and turn it too +7db but a bit worried that'll cause a bit of distortion. (gain too high and all that).

no harm in trying....

can you not just leave it on all the time.....????

I have the same prob with my SVS in auto mode.
It takes quite a bit of volume to bring it out of stanby, so i just leave it on all the time.

no option for this. Sub only works in auto mode.....

not really a problem since i've increased the sub out on the amp as i'll be rearly be listening to anything under -55db
