The episode where Stan thinks the war is still going on (still in the trenches!!) is hilarious!!.(when he comes to stay with Oli)

    I think it's called 'Blockheads'

Also like the one, where Oli is in hospital and Stan comes to visit.
In about 5 minutes, Stans caused utter chaos. Oli is hanging out the window, he's got him upside down...etc...Priceless!!!!!!

Nobody comes close to L&H at their best.

The number of movies (shorts and full length) these guys knocked out is astonishing.

The strange thing is, if any of them were remade, with exactly the same scripts, they'd be crap.

I can't explain what makes them so funny. The timing ? The innocence ? Can't put my finger on it.....

Only Stan and Ollie can spend 15 minutes trying to get into a bunk bed and make it funny :D

You can see the style of their comedy is still used throughout the comedy world today. The idea of one little incident building up to total chaos - Brittas Empire springs to mind - they all owe it to these 2 comic heros

Just seen a couple of them on bbc 2 and i wish someone would restore them to dvd .Some of the marks and dirty were really bad.And it`s a shame that classic films like these should have been cleaned up by now, for the future.

Did anyone see Laughing Gravy today? I must have seen it on tv a dozen times before but this was a different version!
Instead of the usual ending - want to avoid spoilers as I'm new here and don't want to start on the wrong foot - there was a completely new sequence in the hotel room.
Has anyone else seen this before and is this version available on dvd (or even video)?

This is available on video (dont know about DVD), as i have it as well. There are at least two others available with restored (extra) footage incase you're interested

'Pardon Us' VHS 6364163 running time 68mins
'Blotto' (together with 'another fine mess') VHS 6367443 53mins (total)

both cases have a round black sticker on the front titled 'restored sound & picture'

i think they were bought from either HMV or Whsmiths.
