Apparently, this one run's cool and quiet compared to the last build (e3).
They should just release that - it looks smaller and more attractive than the final design. Stick a nice faceplate on it and it would fit in quite well to most people's AV set ups.
I was thinking same, pretty neat looking.
It looks smaller than final design!? How big do you think the PS3 is?
I'd say the devkit is around 500MM (W).The retail PS3 is 325MM.
I do think the next gen of console's will be closer in look to that devkit though.
Yer that would like fine in most peoples AV setups, nice polished faceplate and itd be sweet
I think it looks superb as it is. Can I have one?
Excellent. Until you find that's a 42" sitting on it!!
Hate to join the crowd but it does actually look better than the final design. At least it is stackable.
at least it looks like the 'computer' it's masquerading as... i'd much rather have that than the lab4000/george foreman grill type affair due for release.
**edit: that's a psp case is it not? even taking into account foreshortening that box isn't that big...
Yeah the size thing was just a cheap dig so i'll hold my hands up there .
I do prefer the look of the dev kit though (obviously they would have to stick a retail face plate on it) and feel that it would fit into people's AV rigs better, style wise. As Rasczak states it is also stackable.
If they are trying to make the PS3 fit in as a media centre for the living room then it would make sense to say style it like their Amps or other kit.
surely this cant be real - i mean look whats wrote on the screen
What do you mean?

Here's a nice pic showing the PS3 dev kit against the PS2. You can see how big the dev kit actually is here.
