Did anyone else feel sorry for the mother of the one child who worked 12 hours a day? I mean, she obviously felt guilty enough about doing it but to have the other woman's mother and the other woman both put her down so mercilessly for choosing to work... it was like watching someone be flogged in front of your eyes. Although there was a certain irony in the fact that the other woman basically spent 12 hours of her day washing, drying and ironing clothes for her 6 kids (which they could obviously not afford or house properly) whilst happily sending her husband out to work two jobs all hours of the day and night. Say what you like about Barry from last week but the amount of bitterness and dysfunction on display last night was FAR more disturbing than a comedy lazy-get
I caught the last couple of minutes as I was watching The world is not enough (hmmmm Denise Richards)..... It seemed a bit catty to say the least, looked very depressing! Had to laugh at the end though when both mums went home and were hugging and kissing their kids in what seemed like real false circumstances. Half the time the kids looked pretty bemused as if they didn;t know what the hell was going on!
i thought the fat blonde woman was horrible Why did they have so many kids when they clearly could not afford them? she was a complete cow to the other woman at the end I would imagine in the majority of families now both parents work, at least full time I did think they were a bit soft with the girl though, a dummy at her age!
i`m sure they must have the couples locked in the pub for a few hours at the end to get the reactions they do. i think the striking out at the opposite couple is a way of reassuring themselves that their way is right. the people on the program seem very judgemental of others, and very quick to condem other lifestyle that differ from theirs.
well the couples must have responded to an ad to be on the show says a lot really most of the couples so far have all been very narrow minded
I think thats the premise of the show. Each show so far have diametrically opposed views - thats the beauty of it
I think the people who apply for the show all believe they are the very definition of what is 'right' and 'normal'. That they then see just how different others can be makes them question themselves and thus they become defensive and lash out at the exposed differences, not ever wanting to concede that their way might not be quite as perfect as they might have thought. There's a very salutary lesson for us all to learn from these peoples' experiences.
Not in the slightest. Her claims of her so-called career being of paramount importance (a legal secretary) merely sought to highlight her selfishness and contempt for all but herself.
It looked more like she was a data entry/harvesting no-mark. She did come across shelfish, but then it's equally selfish having six kids you can't house properly. Two sets of bunk beds in a room you could barely get one bed in? Nice.
You only saw the other mother standing in for her. they're not going to give her any legal stuff to do - just surf the net looking for the company details - nothing too taxing. I don't know in the scheme of things how a legal secretary fairs but a two hour drive either way is a bit much for most jobs. I'm on a decent wad but I'll limit myself to an hour maximum. My current jobs on average is 50 mins with some stationary traffic along the way. I hate that journey when its too busy and it takes me an hour and a half to get home. ooo lottery tonight, perhaps I'll buy a ticket
They probably replied thinking it was a swingers club Can you imagine seeing it in the paper: "to do a wife-swap phone this number"
Sad, bitter and twisted, likely to be even more so when at some point in the future she becomes redundant, as often happens to those who make a God of their work. Almost a repeat of the Cherie Blair pathos, she's obviously conscious about it to react that way. Who knows how the editing was twisted, but it made it look like she was in need of therapy or a holiday. The husband came across tightly wrapped too, the pumpkin incident was scary. The other family may not have ideal living conditions but they seemed more at peace with themselves and the world. There is nothing wrong working long hours to support children ( or yourself ) , indeed it is often essential, so no need to feel guilty about it. Should have stuck her with Baz.
Why am I disappointed with the REAL subject of this thread? I was expecting juicy confessions galore.
I missed this one, But there was a picture of one wife (a self confessed Nympho) In the Sport this morning At least it wasn't the white one from the First show
