Last Minute Advice

I am just about to order my new speakers.

I have decided that I like the look and sound of the new KEF 9000s and have decided to buy the following:

3 x KEF 9000s for the front
2 x KEF 5005s for the rears
1 x REL Strata 5 sub

along with QED Silver Anniversary cable for the fronts and QED Original cable for the rears all terminated with Airloc plugs at the amp end and bare at the speaker end. The REL comes with it's own cable.

All the KEFs will be wall mounted except for the centre which will use the small desktop stand.

Now this little lot is going to set me back about £2400.

What do you think ? anything you would change ? I did not want to go for floorstanders as they take up to much room.

Cheers, Lee

Second Nobbers view although might relent and retain Anniversary for the stereo fronts but still bin the lovely looking but irrelevant Airloc's.

At that price range you have so much choice. As long as you have had a good listen to the KEFs plus a few other things in that price range you should be happy.

If you are willing to accept standmounted speakers I would have a listen to the M&K K range plus the Pro-Ac Hexa system.

Hi Lee

I think you could do far better for surrounds than the Kef 5005's.
For two of them you are talking roughly £300 on the basis that they are about £149 RRP.
For about £150 you could get a decent pair of Mission Bipolars and for £400 you could get M&K Tripoles.
