It retails for less than the Mimo, and from what i have read it will be exact same spec as Mimo/Aventos.

Tis very tasty but the dedicated rack is completely useless. You would have to by a third party stand and IMO it then wouldn't look anywhere as good as Mimo on Rack1. It will probably end up being nearer Christmas that it hits the shops when you consider the delays on other sets. Come then there may be another spangly nice new set, and so on and so on........

Sad to hear but ever the pioneers, I think Loewe are pulling out at the right time. The new model looks great, a cross between the Aconda/Articos. There is no denying the future is flat/slim.

As good as CRT is, my next display will be Plasma/LCD. I don't think a could afford a Spheros though :(.

Aside from the exterior, this seems to be the typical Loewe design. Anyone wanting the 28" is going to be short-changed on RGB SCARTs again, and as usual, the stand is useless if you've got more than a VCR and/or DVD to go to the front of the room (guess Loewe are targetting people who want a swish looking TV, rather than the HC crowd who've got to find somewhere to put the centre speaker).

Having said that, I agree that it looks better than the Mimo.

Justa quick q.... Can anyone tell me if Loewe have actually ever, or are known to be considering, revising their add-in modules? A module to properly accept NTSC and PAL progressive via regualr component inputs and give full control over image shape etc would be nice, rather than the kludge that seems to be the VGA add-in card from what I've read in these forums

I enquired about this a while ago. The responses i got from the technical people in Germany can be summarised as follows:

    Progressive scan = 50/60Hz = BAD!
    Standard Loewe processing = 100Hz = Good!

I couldn't be bothered to argue!
I wouldn't hold my breath for an upgrade module.

This would be nice but extremely doubtful given the news above. Would add some much needed longevity to the current Loewe range though.

The VGA card was never designed as a means to view Progressive signals via DVD and hence, it's limited ability to do so. For standard PC VGA connection, it fulfills it's purpose flawlessly and spend a bit of time with the right software via HTPC, the VGA card is anything but kludge ;).

If you read the link, near the end it says "silver and anthracite".

Thank you. I only wondered because the Loewe website disagrees - it only mentions Platinum.

On the same website there's mention of a Nemos 32 DVB-T. This had me quite excited and straight off to my local dealer; he'd just got back from the Bristol show and had heard of no such thing. I've emailed Loewe UK to see if there's finally a Freeview module out for these sets.

    UPDATE:

I've heard back from Loewe. Everything on their web site pertains specifically to Germany; they haven't decided yet whether or not they will ever release a digital terrestrial module in the UK.
