well, after a couple of weeks of scouring these forums and walking the shops I'm finally going to lay down the cash tomorrow...
Down to a choice of 2:
    Panny TX32PL4 - £699
    Sharp 32JF73H - £599
    Both are at Comet.

Both seemed to me to have great pictures and the ones in the shops had none of the problems that get reported on here.
I searched for ages in vain for a set that I could get a price match from JL but they're all just out of my price bracket. (except for the Philips ones which I think all have very grainy pictures).

So unless anyone tells me different I think its the Panny.
Although the £100 saving for the Sharp could go towards an amp & speakers.:)

i don't have a scooby to what you're talking about:)

all I meant was that the ones that I saw in the shops didn't have any dull patches, dark strips at the side, dodgy colour, etc.
both looked to have bright, natural colour.
might be that they are hand-picked units but I'll take my chances.
