    Hi,

I still collect DTS LaserDisks, and my collection is worth a lot to me, but my player keeps skipping the first track when switching to side 2. Does anyone know where I can have it serviced.

BTW, I have cleaned the lens with a DVD cleaner disk, but I think theres a seperate lens for playing LaserDISKS so I may need a special LASERDISK lens cleaner.

Anyone out there who still watches LASERDISKS?...

My Laserdisc collection is 80 strong and I still watch them.

As for repair and serice, I can definately recomend Videotec in Oxford. They serviced my Pioneer CLD 2950 and it came back performing as new.

The number is 01865 245566 (Ask for Tony)

Well I have opened up my ld player.. as far as I can see its the same laser for both.. so the normal disc cleaner should be fine!

Second the vote for Videotech in Oxford.

Knowledgeable people, In fact I bought a 2950 off them to go into my main system a few years back, My trusty 1450 is still going strong.

They also do some VERY interesting equipment mods.

Saved me a fortune over the years

Give B&B Hifi a call in Reading, Berks. I had one off them a while back but returned it when I upgraded to a Denon AVC-A1SR which has one built in. They may still have it .....

I replaced the LD laser including the motor which solved the problem (Pioneer DVL 909 and DVL 919 models) It can be bought for about £82 from .... (forgotten will check and post details!). It can be fitted without to much adjustment, my player has now been fine for over a year. I had the exact same problem.

The company is SEME 01664-484000 and the part number is VWT1141 CLD Pickup Assy. It's £87! Seme are very good for pioneer parts.
