CSI that is...with the season finale of CSI on 5 tonight (see related thread), I must confess to being a new CSI addict. I record every episode that's on from whatever city and Friday night is CSI night (If I'm home that is...).
I must admit to being partial to CSI Miami...David Caruso's character, Horatio Caine, is probably one of the coolest cops to ever walk the TV land planet...

So, the question is - what's your favourite, and why...?

I like the original, everything seems to blend well. Not watch much of the other two, but Miami I didn't like the actors compare to the original, but maybe I need to give it more time. And I only saw one episode of the New York one and it seem to be more of a cop show than scientific side of things if that makes sense. So again I should try and watch more of them, However, with so many episodes on difference channels and repeats I'm lost and would prefer to sit down and watch them in order.

I've tried to watch both the original CSI and the NY variant and just sat there bored silly were as with Miami I was hooked from the first episode.

It's probably down to characters, you can meet a dozen people and know within minutes which you like and which you dont although force the issue and you may find that you come to like some of them over time.
With a TV show there is no need to make the effort since there is always something else to watch and you can only spend so much time in front of the telly:)

    From a privious post

An other reason is the tend to do just one story line more than the others its as if the story is not strong enough to last 40 minutes.

Miami all the way for me I can miss the others, hell I missed most of New York but Miami has me glued.

    Vegas, baby.

Followed by New York, I'm not as keen on the Miami cast although I do like the pathologist from Miami, she gives alot of the "heart" to the show.

Grissom and Brass are great characters.

Sorry FG i dont feel i can vote as i've only watched them on DVD and therefore i've not seen NY (saw the pilot) Seen a couple of Miami's.

I'm ready for season 4 on DVD, so as soon as the price falls :smashin:

I like CSI alot - but it took a little while to settle with me - the whole premise of the show as odd - 30 odd years i've been told that cops do the crime fighting (with the help the geeks in the lab). In CSI the geeks carry guns, wear shades and look like cops but aren't cops - the real cop is the fat guy at the back with cuffs whose done naff all for 43 mins.

But i DO love CSI :smashin:

Love all of them but would probably put them in the order of Vegas, New York then Miami. But that may change when the new series of Miami is out. Still think the cast of the original is the best

Gotta be Vegas, New York, then Miami for me. Caruso in Miami is just too much sometimes.

You can almost act his part. Say something profound, stop, put on sunglasses, stare into camera, then finish profound sentence. End scene.

When New York started I wasn't overwhelmed but after a few episodes I really got into it. They are all immensely watchable and brilliant programmes. Some of the best TV out there.

On the totty front, which is always important :) , it would be Miami, New York then Vegas.

Nah it goes NY(Vanessa Ferlito), Vegas(Aisha Tyler) and then Miami (Sofia Milos). Although it's a toss-up(so to speak) between NY and Vegas.

:D 'Fluffed up Mary' is another term for fine women. :smashin:

Back on topic. I am nearing the last few episodes of Navy NCIS and I would like to replace my U.S. show addiction  with one of the CIS series.

I have never seen any CSI episodes before, which one should I start on first? Should I just start with the first CSI and then move on to New York, Miami....

    :D

    Hi,

I voted for the original "CSI" series, simply because I've grown to love the characters so much.

Of the three, "New York" is my second fave, simply because it looks at crime in one of the biggest cities in the world, and Season 1 had some really fantastic episodes in it. "Miami" is the weakest of the lot, but even this spin-off has had a few superb stories.

What I'd really like to see, however, is a three-part crossover story that either:
    - involves all three shows characters, helping (or hindering) one another, in a major storyline of some sort, or
    - a story that starts off in one of the shows, and then continues and concludes in the other two.

    That would be superb!

    Hey Greg, you forgot something:

After Horatio has said something profound, stopped, put on his sunglasses, stopped, stared into the camera for dramatic effect, stopped, finished his profound sentence, and then stopped...what does he always do?

That's right...he puts his hands on his hips...every bloody time! It drives me nuts!!

There something about blondes (with straight hair) for me which is bypassing years of indifference and hitting all the right spots, probably got something to do with getting older I suspect:)

Both Emily and Poppy Montgomery (Without A Trace) are fine looking women and play strong intelligent characters which I have to admit makes them far appealing than the run of the mill females which were far too common in crime dramas up until quite recently.

    Emily....
    Poppy....
