Just a general question, large houses / hotels etc.. Do they pay for a multiroom in each room? I ask because that must cost a small fourtune each month.

If you had say a 6 bed house with 6 sky boxes would they allow 1 sub or would need one for each room?

If it's a private house, then it's the standard £10.25 per box (I have four).

I don't know if they have a commercial rate for hotels, but at (say) £50 per room per night, the hotel owner presumably wouldn't worry about the odd 30p.

Oh, so a million £ house the owner would still need a sub per room?

There's a limit to the number of multiroom susbcriptions, after which it would presumably be a matter of negotiation.

First time I've heard of a limit, but I presume it's four, due to the Octo LNB?

You could get six and a PVR on an octo, and I assume that would be as far as a standard installation would go.

8 feeds from the octo, 6 to single fed boxes plus the normal 2 to a Sky+.

My own set up is twin feeds to all 4 boxes.

Whilst I'd prefer to pay as little as possible, I feel multi-room is quite a bargain, as otherwise I'd be paying four subscriptions!

    One multiroom disqualifies from being a T G imho:laugh:, so I don't know what 4 do!

You can have as many as want. I've had a 7 box install where there were already 2 boxes. 2 dishes with octo's. You need to check with local planning authority first. In this case 1 dish had to be out of sight. 5 hd(non records) 3 hd+ 1 skyplus and this was before the hd subscription per box was dropped

Oh dear, I knew I should have kept quiet about that!

Can I redeem my reputation by pointing out that I bought Mrs TG a pair of oven gloves for Christmas.

    Secondhand, of course!

Methinks you spoil her. What was wrong with one for Christmas and then the other for her birthday?:laugh:

Yes, but after 44 years of marriage, I thought she deserved a treat. :smashin:

Still, I'm back on my medication now, and promise it won't happen again. :nono:

AFAIK the limit is indeed 4, after which you go to hotel rate.

One thing's for sure, you don't need more than one dish, nor want to be messing around with Octo LNB's.

If you've got any more than a handful of boxes, you'd be much better off fitting a Quattro LNB and a multiswitch.
