Laptop to HDD Recorder hookup

I'm trying to work out how to hook up my Laptop to my HDD Recorder so that I can view Internet-only broadcasts at leisure (those not on Freeview in my area). Laptop has HDMI, USB and 15pin D-sub Monitor outputs; Recorder has S-Video, 3xPhono, DV and USB inputs. Recorder's user guide states DV and USB may not work for Video except from a DV camera. Would like guidance, thanks.

You could try the above but trying to interface any PC with a DVD recorder is fraught with problems and almost always fails.

The main problem is that a DVD recorder will usually only intake 50Hz Pal signals and nothing else.
A PC can very rarely supply this video format.
