Laptop query

    Thinking of getting this laptop to use as a HTPC but Im just wondering which would be the best way to connect it to my Amp when watching DVDs to obtain DD and DTS??

    It would help to know which laptop you were considering,but unless it has a raw digital output,or a multichannel sound card,which would be very unusual on a laptop,you aren't going to get either DD or DTS out of it.

    Its a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo D7830..is it possible to purchase a Sound card which will give Digital Out (or Optical) ?

    There are PCMCIA and USB devices that give you a SPDIF out, but never used one myself.
