I've just bought a basic, yet impressibe Acer 4151Lmi laptop primarily for wireless web surfing, basic document editing etc.

I would like to be able to download stuff and connect the laptop to my plasma.

The video outputs on the laptop are limited to VGA, SVideo and 1394 (firewire).

I know that connection from VGA to VGA is easy, questions:

    - would any other connection be more sensible?

    - would I be able to run any HD (Demo etc) content and reproduce true HD using these connections?

    - assuming yes to above, any tips for where to download demos etc

    Thanks in advance.

You can run HiDef clips if you can set the resolution of the laptop to 1280*720 or 1920*1080. You can download clips from here: http://www.wmvhd.com/

Thanks for that .. I thought I was stuffed for a minute as the laptop screen's max resolution is 1024 x 768 ...

.. but you can switch to external monitor and set that res to anything you like !!

I assume VGA - VGA connection is the way to go ?

VGA -> VGA is good - can only be bettered if you've got a DVI out on the laptop.
