new to all this  so any reply please keep simple ! :lesson:

have just got myself a laptop with centrino, i am using a netgear dg834g wireless router to connect to the internet, all this is up and running and i'm very happy with it.

what i would like to do now is have a printer set up, up stairs.
how do i go about this and what kit do i need?

in trying to get info from friends iv'e had advice on bluetooth, servers, adaptors, etc, etc so now i am trying to get a solution from someone who actually knows what they are on about!

one last question, printers ive had in the past have been powered via the usb,
if the printer was away from the laptop how would it be powered?

Well, I got one of these, which connects to a wired ethernet connection from my wireless router and also then connects via USB to your printer (which will also need a separate power connection).

You can there wirelessly print from your laptop.

    Think he meant this. :)
Or if you have bluetooth, this looks like a good option. ;)

No problem. Remember that bluetooth is limited in range compared to wifi so having the printer upstairs via bluetooth and the laptop downstairs may not work.
