Hi avforums

I wondered if you could help with a little dilemma, My 6yr old Asus K series laptop has finally reached the point of no return and i am looking for a replacement.

But have since found this one on Dabs:

zoostorm Storm-Force GT4
Type -Gaming Laptop
Display Size -15.6 in
Processor Model -I5-4210M
Graphics-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 940M
Touchscreen - No
Installed Memory - 8 GB
Hard Drive Capacity - 1 TB
Optical Storage - DVD/RW
Operating System - Windows 10

having never heard of Zoostorm i am a little curious about the quality.

Does anyone have any thoughts or advice on the above systems or a better idea? im looking in the £500-600 mark, gaming but mostly Minecraft, left for dead, portal 2 area but also Autocad, Photoshop work use. With a little bit of future proofing.

Many thanks in advance.

The pictures of the zoostorm are pretty low resolution, but the image of the side ports corresponds exactly with the PCSpecialist Cosmos IV so I'm guessing it's also a Clevo W650. Although obviously a slightly different configuration than the W650RB that PCSpecialist use.

The i5-4210M is a lot slower than an i5-6300HQ, especially in applications like Photoshop and Autocad that can happily use a lot of cores. You would also need to add the SSD yourself, although I see you've left it off the PCSpecialist listing so you may be planning to do that anyway.

Thanks EndlessWaves, so pretty much the same case but the Cosmos has a better processor, also i have just tweaked the quote on PC specialist and upped the ram to 8GB and the HDD to 1TB and only added £20 to the quote (£591 vs Zoostorm £549).

HDD i'm not too worried about as most of my general storage is on my home server or external HDD's so will probably swap out the HDD for and SSD myself in the near future.

Looking like the Cosmos is the better deal all round unless anyone else has some ideas or a better deal?
