I recently managed to drop and destroy my current laptop. It's covered under our household policy so I have been offered one of two replacements

    Acer Aspire 1682wlmi - Centrino 1.6ghz, 512mb RAM, 60gb HDD, 15.4" screen, DVD burner, Mobile Radeon 9700

    or

    Sony VAIO B1VP - Centrino 1.6ghz, 512mb RAM, 40gb HDD, 14.1" screen, CDRW/DVD Drive, Shared video memory

I quite like the spec of the Acer but am worried about it's actual size, we want to use it at home as a laptop (i.e on lap, not stuck on a desk), I've heard the Sony's has a very reflective screen tough so am torn as to which one to plump for, any advice.

Unless anyone can think of a suitable alternative??
