Screen and hard drives are kaput! and to be honest ive got a mac now and don't need it. Rather than sell it as spares i was thinking about using it as a HTPC.

I am just stuck on what case to get for it? As I can't find any information online regarding what kind of motherboard it is?

I think it will make a good HTPC as it has a blue ray player and various inputs. Anybody got any advice?

I don't think you will be able to transfer it into a HTPC case, but you probably could use it as it is. You will obviously have to replace the hard drive, looks like it takes two so I would suggest an SSD for the OS and a mechanical drive for storage.

It has HDMI out for audio and video, and you could get a USB receiver for a remote control. You will be limited for expansion, but could add a powered USB hub and add tuners / extra storage that way.

Are you sure the screen and hard drives are dead? Two things dying at once is pretty unlikely, but if the motherboard died then they may appear dead.

Have you tried the hard disk in another computer?
