    Guys,

Just bought a uber laptop with ati mobility M10 (ati 9600) series vid card in it.
I'm connected the s-vid out to the TV to play dvd movies etc.. and have noticed slight judders when panning etc...

I tried reclock and from what I can tell. The DVD is playing at something
around 24/25hz but my video is being outputted at 60 hz due to the limitations of my laptop screen (even if I'm trying to watch movies on tv)

Is there a way to force the tv out to be 50hz or am I stuck.

    Thanks guys.

I haven't tried this myself, but from the help file:

    1 Click the TV button.
Your TV must be enabled before you can change its display properties.
    2 Click the Format tab.
3 In the Country box, select a country from the list. Select "UK" - or whatever is appropriate.
4 Click OK or Apply to save the changes you have made.

The UK PAL format is 50hz.

(or...perhaps I didn't read your post properly the first time, and you have already done the above ;-) In which case, you could perhaps try setting the TV to be the primary display, in the ATI control panel, to see if that helps. Or perhaps disable the LCD monitor output entirely, and see if it works then?)

Thank you MikeTV. That worked a treat.

I made my tv the primary monitor. Turned off my laptop screen and then used powerview to set up a 50hz refresh rate.

    Super.

What is the quality of the display like from the s-video connection?

Very good. I was surprised at the vibrancy of the colour.
