I just had my sony KF42SX300 LCD rearpro tv replaced after the lamp went on my original unit :thumbsdow
    1. Are there any tips on what I might do to make the most of the lamp life (apart from leaving the TV permanently OFF :rotfl: )?
    2. Anything I should avoid?
    Thanks

    Two things...

    1. Don't move the set while it's on or for at least 30 minutes after you switch off. Movement while the lamp is hot will knock a good portion of life out of it.

    2. make sure it's able to ventilate sufficiently to keep the lamp reasonably cool - they do run extremely hot. Again this will shorten the life of the lamp if it runs too hot.
