But yes, there is the potential for lag. Just as if you have a top-spec PC, and fibre to the desktop, you might still get "lag", as its not all about you. Basically any online game has this potential, and all you can do is pick more stable and better supported games - plus choose who you play with (ie not kiddies downloading porn continuously, or people sharing connections etc) or ignore it.
I have a 2 meg line with Pipex, and generally its fine. I get lag especially when playing games like SOCOM 3 via Xlink Kai, but that's Kais problem mostly, as SOCOM2 is much better (but not always great).
