    Hi,

Installing some electrical underfloor heating over the next week.

Have a totally of 8 mats which means 8 pairs of 'cold' leads that need to be commoned up.

The leads are seperate brown and blue flexible multi-core.

Woull like to lable the wires so I can identify the pairs where they are commoned.

They need to be pulled through a conduit so I don't want any flappy lables that with impede that or get ripped off.

Could use different colours of insulation tape, maybe two stripes to get enough combinations.

But is there any better way - when I used to work around electrical and electronic engineers in industry we had small coloured/numbered rubber sleeves. Is there something similar and affordable that I can get from the highstreet or eBay. Tried googling but clearly not using the right keywords.

Also don't want anything bulky as this will impede pulling the 16 wires through the conduit.

    Cheers,

    Nigel

Sorry. Just re read your post.

I'd go with colored tape and as you say you can use combinations of colours.

The search term you want is cable marker.

Sounds like the sleeve type would be best but may be uneconomical to buy for such a small application.

Thin Permanent marker and bands around the cables.

i.e. 1 band then 2 bands etc etc, and if there's room do it in a couple of places.

    +1

Label each cable individually at each end so 1-1 2-2 3-3 4-4 etc
