Thanks for the Review, Cas. From your review, I definitely know that this is far from my cup of tea!

The only bit of the trailer I’ve seen (between episodes of American Dad) on Fox UK which makes me want want to watch LA’s Finest is when the 2 leads prance around in their undies but I’m guessing there’s no cake bakes or pillow fighting in the actual show?!

Yup, unfortunately not, lol. It's interesting that they used those mock adverts to promote the sex appeal of the show's stars, as it is kind of playing to that appeal whilst also pretending that what they are really saying is: "this is not what this show is about at all". Cake and eat it and all that.

Kinda like Alba saying "I'm going to prance around in my underwear in order to explain to you that, in this show, I'm not going to be prancing around in my underwear, so don't be expecting any of that." o_O

Going by the review I would think this was a 4/10 not a 6/10.

I am a big fan of both the Bad Boys movies, and was looking forward to watching this. Alas the first episode is not even worth a 4, it misses rapid fire repartee, and as for Jessica Alba, the acting is dire.

Watched first episode tonight and immediately removed the series link - just dire!

I didn't think it was too bad. 6.5/10 I'd probably rate it.

The first episode was just the pilot, so I expect episode 2 onwards to be much more polished and better.

I wouldn't dump it after one episode, give a couple more a try.

It is in the same Bad Boys style, very slick and sexy, but lacked substance. Hopefully future episodes will cure that.

I guess the review is just on the pilot?

Yup, all that was available so far, so I agree it might be worth sticking with for a couple more episodes (think I said as much in the review).

I think these slick but safe shows need some kind of edge, and perhaps I've been spoilt by Lethal Weapon which, initially, delivered this. Then again Bad Boys, as much as I love it, is not Lethal Weapon, so perhaps this was always going to be what they could get out of a TV spin-off.

Let's see what happens; they renewed it for a second season so my non-cynical side thinks there may be some hope that it gets better.

Often with pilots, depending when they were made they are often very different from the next episode. Almost to the point sometimes that you have different actors playing some of the secondary roles or characters gone altogether.

I'll still watch it until it is unbearable purely because of the lovely Jessica Alba/Gabriel Union combo.

As you say Cas, hopefully as it has had a second season renewal already, it will turn out to be better.

I actually didn't mind this and I would definitely give it more than one episode as I don't think the pilot was particularly good, I would rate it an unspectacular 6.5-7 for its first season.

It's not going to win an Emmy, but I liked the fact it had plot elements that unfolded over the course of the season and also other procedural case of the week type stuff.

Plus, of course as already mentioned Alba/Union aren't hard to look at.

Still watching this but it’s hard going.
The ‘comic’ banter between the characters is falling completely flat.
The writers have tried to emulate the Bad Boys banter but it is missing entirely.

Whether that is the actors or writers fault I’m not sure.

The storylines are pretty good but it just isn’t working at the moment.
After watching a few episodes, I’d rate it 6/10 for now.

With so many other decent things to watch, this may well be getting dumped in our house if it doesn’t quickly improve, even with Jessica Alba.
