Just purchased the set 3 weeks ago.

It has now developed some sort of colour problem in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. There seems to be a purple colour haze that engulfs the corner. It only occurs when the picture is yellow/orange/red but more prevalent when there is an orange picture.

There is no external audio equipment near the TV.

Turning down the contrast seems to make the issue go away slightly but it's still there. The rest of the screen is perfect.

Any help would be much appreciated

It may be similar to what I've experienced on Sony's, a pink screen effect. Can't seem to create a link at the moment but see the current thread:

    "New Sony 'Picture Power' models."

This should give you more details on how I learned to find it on sets.

I don’t have a facility to post a picture of it, however I am being led into believing this issue is being caused by some sort of magnetic interference.

The TV is by a radiator (long thin radiator), the radiator is to the left of the TV and this colour distortion appears on the other side of the TV.

The distortion doesn’t seem to appear when the images are black and white.

Maybe I should go about having it professionally degaussed?

That would definitely be the first step.

Is the built in coil not strong enough?
