    Hi,

I just bought this set and it has a (very slight) green band flickering when using RGB inputs (any of them).

The problem is more noticeable in scenes with dim light (green band) and faces (green only visible on the face) with no highlights and B&W in general.

It's visible in both Advanced 100 Hz Digital Motion and Digital Plus modes.

S-Video and Composite imputs are perfect.

I've already tested two SCART cables and they show the same problem.

My DVD player is a Pioneer DV-350S.

Maybe this DVD RGB out is not compatible with Sony's RGB in. Some people even say Sony TVs only work well with Sony DVDs (!)

Is this a problem of my TV set or is it a "feature"? How can I correct it? Service Menu? Exchange? Forget about using RGB inputs? Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Carlos

Just in case is there anybody interested:

I've tested this TV with an old Panasonic DVD player (DVD-A360). The green banding is very difficult to detect, but it's there (I have to try hard to find it).

It seems the Pioneer has a bad RGB output. I know it's a very cheap player, but I expected more.

On the other hand, even the Panasonic shows some problems. So perhaps this is another example of how bad the SCART connector is (specially for RGB signals). Now I'm considering buying a good quality s-video cable connected to the (front) s-video input on the TV (ugly!) instead.

    Bruce,

Why are you so sure it's the TV set fault?

I was already considering a DVD player upgrade...

I just wanted to say that I have not seen any of these problems with my 32fq86 and a Philips DVD recorder.

hi - ive just got a sony 40V2000, connected my philips DVD player up using the scart. With no dvd in the drive, it normally shows a screen saver that is a dark blue - the screen saver is now green when it should be blue using the sony TV !
