But there is a risk you may get stung with a customs charge, bringing it closer to cd-wow's price.

I ordered mine from Yesasia. It was more expensive than the prices you mentioned but I didn't get by customs so no complaints.

Also with the Yesasia order got some other freebie things like a watch, bag and calendar. Which was nice.

Haven't cracked it open yet waiting until I know that I won't be disturbed and then I'm going to have an afternoon of enjoyment.

When you open it can you post back here? I'm interested because the watch and something else were supposedly cancelled by the distributor.

There are apparently 2 different LE releases of Kung-Fu Hustle. One is limited to 2000 units released in Korea (the lower priced release) which DOES NOT CONTAIN the watch & calendar but everything else is the same. The second release is 5000 units from Hong Kong (more expensive) which DOES CONTAIN the watch, calendar and something else (can't remember the other thing).

I ordered mine from KoreanDVDs which was the Korean release and then I notoced they were selling another set that was about $20 more, hence why I investigated and the above is what I found out.

I already know that, but I believe the watch from the HK version was cancelled by the distributor.

    As seen here.

I will try and find the link.

It depends on where you bought the HK set from. CD-Wow didn't include the watch and goodies with their HK sets, but YesAsia did.

Not from DVDfromKorea you won't... they're quite willing to not only mark the package with a false customs declaration, but include a fake invoice as well. Heck, they give you the option via tickboxes during checkout! Have had several packages well over the limit come through with no problems from them. :)

Didn’t realise that as I’ve never ordered from them before – looks like they’ll be getting some business in the future! :)

The watch/calender/booklet/bag weren't actually in the LE box but were swathed in bubble-wrap and in the postage box(the big brown box that everything arrived in).

The watch is quite a nice item with the K-F H kanji/characters on the face and I assume the chinese symbols for the numbers around the outer edge of the dial. This comes in one of those cloth jewellry bags with the K-F H characters printed on it.
I've not taken the wrap from the calender so I can't tell you what that's like.
The bag is just a paper bag (similar in style to the spangly gift wine bottle bags) again with the K-F H symbols(I'm beginning to notice a common theme).
And the Yesasia exclusive booklet that I can't read.

This is just typical, I only ordered the standard DVD release yesterday from CDWow, was tempted by the Boxset but didnt want to pay £49.99

By the way, I have just tried to place an order for the Boxset and even though the set is $37.99, the only postage methods available are $34.00 (7-14 days) and $47.40 (3-5 days), was wondering what postage method was listed before to allow you to get it for $58 shipped?

I just got an email back from them regarding the increase in shipping price...

Sounds pretty reasonible and even with the increased shipping price it is still only about £36 so I have cancelled my order with CDWow for the standard Edition and have ordered the Boxset using the 2% PayPal discount, been told it will ship tomorrow mark as a Gift and with a Value of $20 :)

guess I was lucky with the $58 . Must admit you had me a bit worried incase I had quoted the wrong price. Still, as you say it is a good price even still.

Still better than ordering from somewhere like DVD Asian. While their shipping is cheap, the prices on their site are often double what DVDfromKorea charge.

After looking around different sites I am suprised they were able to offer the Boxset for such a cheap price, others have it for as much as $129.99 so even with $34 shipping it still half the price of other sites plus you know there wont be any customs charges.

I have to admit that when I ordered I didnt know there was a different set, everywhere I looked had what looked like the same set so I just ordered but now know that the Korean set has the following differences to the HK set...

Subtitle : Korean Edition has Korean subtitle. Other technical details are same as HK Edition.
    * There are no paper shopping, watch and calendar in Korean Giftset.
    * Several Gift items(i.e. Booklet) are written in Korean, not Chinese

Considering the price difference between the HK and Korean versions though I dont mind missing out on the watch and calendar for the money I saved, just hope it arrives soon, was dispatched on the 18th so hopefully a Parcel Force van will pull up sometime this week :)

got mine today from dvdfromkorea. It's a BIG parcel. opened it up, but couldn't find the 'exclusive booklet'. It's not the retailers fault as the package was obviously factory sealed, but I'm e-mailing them as the set is really incomplete :(
