Hi, ive got a Kenwood KRF-7050D on the way, second hand effort.

Does anyone know if this has a built in 5.1 decoder or do i need to make sure the DVD player i buy has built in 5.1 decoder?

    Thanks, Jamie.

Cool, so that means i can get any DVD player with a digital output and just plug it in to the unit which does all the work itself?

Looking at the Denon DV4500 so thatd do the business between the two of em would it?

    Ta.

yep / for your peace of mind you will see the dd & dts logo onfront of the amp / the general opinion is that the amps' decoders will do a better job than the 'on-board converters' within the dvd player . :)
