Hello everyone. I have just bought this player from a friend. The unit has had a new laser fitted and works perfectly. The Krell is seven years old with little use and he only had the laser changed as a matter of course. How much life do you think will be left in this player?

With a new laser, you should see several years of use,and the player itself is a very robust and high quality device.

I'd not have any worries myself.

7 years is young, my CD only spinner is a Sony ES unit dating back 12+ years and with no transports or laser assemblies left. A quality unit like a Krell should be supported with the availability of servicing and spares for a while longer than 7 years, especially when spending that sort of cash (rrp). I think your investment is safe.
