'A tale of two sisters(Jang Hwa, Hong Nyun)', Awarded Jury Grand prize at Fantastic Film Festival of Gerardmer

At the official competition of 11th. Fantastic Film Festival of Gerardmer which closed earlier this month in France, 'A tale of two sisters' directed by Kim Ji Wun, approved its creativity for the Jury Grand Prize, generally known as Best Film fo the year.

The movie has also received "Best Film" by the Jury of high school students.

Furthermore, 'Wonderful days', a feature animation direction of Kim Mun Sang got the best film in newly appointed in this year's animation competition.

<A tale of two sisters> is a family grotesque portraying relationship among tow sisters, a father and a stepmother.

The movie gives us the ever revealing tragic family story as the horrible and weird things happening around the deserted house.

This is one of Korean folklores, known as the most brutal and the most fearful story turning into a modern interpretation horror film.

The first released DVD is luxuriously produced in Digipack and also included 'specially produced version' edition.

I saw this the other week and was gripped right from the start. The cinematography was superb. The director did a wonderfull job of injecting lots of atmosphere and executing scences of a disturbing nature. I enjoyed it even more than Juon and I feel it's up there with the likes of Dark Water.

well worth adding to your collection imo:smashin:

Hey, all you righteous people out there,

I'm sorry to disturb you but

Isn't it always depressing to see that Some people do not even know what they're talking about.

They should mean what they intend to.

They can not only see others' good intentions when they have the right to as the legitimate asian supplier.

It is only up to the readers to visit the site or not. We merely like to inform and promote what's happening in contemporary Korean culture and society.

And also they admit their being 'pimping' only by doing so.

We all want and let us hope this forum to be full of clear-minded solely dvd manias.

Thanks so much and carpe diem...

It's not that. If you are associated with the company then you are advertising. You may be a legitimate Asian supplier but this site is sponsored (ie. paid for) by several other companies who would not be happy if you got to "pimp" your site for free everytime you post.

By all means continue to comment on Korean films (I'm one of the biggest K-film fans out there and would like to spread the gospel as much as anyone) but no need to post the URL of your company is there?

BTW: love the way you are leaching the image from dvd.co.kr - another of my recommended companies. :D

Philip Lee,

Your grasp of english is slightly suspect, so please don't start quoting latin at us as well! :smoke:

They are not being righteous - they are simply pointing out the fact that you have broken the following 3 forum rules:

RULE 7) Post any advertisements for any commercial venture they represent unless they are allowed in specific forums, and then the adverts must conform to forum rules.

RULE 9) Use images from 3rd parties' websites without their permission.

RULE 12) Register more than once.
(unless you have another explanation for the fact that Philip Lee & bhiggins have an identical IP address?)

Afraid that you don't seem to understand by being righteous.

I was mentioning the thread with advertising two other commercial websites.

First, there's no connection between myself and bhiggins of any kind.

He or she may be from Korea, Korean or even foreigner, I do not know.

Something must have been mixed up with the address in the system, I presume.

and I wanted to spread the k-film news as the R3 supplier review sponsor.

I first posted?with our website after I've seen some sites posted with the thread.

Then we've began participating the sponsored review supplier,

You can mention suppliers now and then, as we all do, but you seem to mention them every post. You have already admitted that you are connected with them and I do not see your name on the Site Sponsors List so how can you call yourself a "sponsor"??

Just for an experiment - try posting something without mentioning your company next time. :D

Anyway, back on topic:

I do have The Tale of Two Sisters - I haven't watched it yet (unlike *cough* bhiggins *cough*), but I do agree that the packaging is lovely.

Have you seen The Legend of Evil Lake? It's out on DVD in a few days time but I don't know what it's like.

The site is actually Chinese :D

Anyway, from what I have heard the film is rather poor - but I will wait for more reviews first.:hiya:
