Been considering a digital camera for while and found some good deals in PC World today. I opted for a Kodak CX4230 which came with a lithium battery.

    Here's the puzzle.
    - The Lithium battery comes un-charged.
    - No charger is supplied in the pack.
    - The optional Kodak docking station only charges NiMH batteries.
    - Kodak say you shouldn't use Alkaline batteries.

EH????? How are you supposed to charge it. It appears to be effectively useless.

I do have some bog standard NiMH batteries I could use in the meantime, but that's hardly the point!
    Can someone explain?

    Thanks
    Jules

How do you charge the Lithium battery.

Try the kodak site it might list a lithium battery charger. The Kodak site has most official acessories on it.

According to the Kodak site, that's a CRV3 battery, which is not rechargeable.
If you've tried it, and it's flat, ask for a replacement.

I'd use your NiMH and keep the CRV3 for emergencies.

    Thanks Ian.

Doh! You're quite right, it isn't rechargable. How silly do I feel now?
    But it is flat though!

I can't be bothered going back to change it - they'd think I was having a laugh!!

Sorry for the late reply but I am new!

I too got this camera (with a charged battery!) and I am very pleased with the results especially as I now have a 128mb card-yippee!!

Anyway, the battery conked after just 2 months and cost £10 to replace but I was told I could buy a Lithium battery charger for £20. The batteries will not last as long between charges but I will get my money back in no time so thats the way I am going when my new battery expires.

If anyone knows any good reason why this is not a good idea please let me know.
