I am about to take a dip into the projector market, to take advantage of a huge room I have that I can turn into a home theater. The problem is that I have no idea what would be a good set up to start with. I am hoping you fellas can help me out (and the girlies too of course). What I know so far: My budget = £1000 max for the projector £1000 for DVD / Sounds £? for screen The room I have is T shaped with each wall being 3m in length, ceiling is 2.5m. I can cut out 98% of the light without any problems. The room is in the basement of my house and has a wooden laminate floor and painted plaster walls, sounds echoes pretty badly at the moment. I can easily mount a PJ on the ceiling as there are plenty of light fittings I can convert (here in Turkey every electrical outlet uses the same juice). I have been leaning towards the Optoma H31 for the choice of PJ, for no other reason than people seem to like them. Although I have also heard that this on is good for having no rainbow effect, is this true and is it a good choice? I will be lining the walls of the room with thick blankets and throwing lots of rugs on the floor, will that help with echo damping? What about audio? How do I go about choosing the right thing? Oh, and one more thing, what would be the best types of connection for a DVD with prog scan? OK, that's it. Anyone want a slice of pizza?
