I'm having real trouble connecting my active Klegg subwoofer to my Sherwood RD-6118R amp. Does anybody know of any compatability problems between these components, or of anything I can try to get a signal between them?

I'm trying to connect using the pre-out subwoofer connection on the amp to the subwoofer input on the back of the subwoofer.

    Cheers.

    i dont know the components.......

Can you confirm that the sub works with another amp? Can you confirm if the amp works with a different sub?

My amp works with the satelite speakers plugged directly into the back of it (rather than connecting them to the subwoofer). I also got sound out of the subwoofer when I connected my satelite box into the stereo inputs on the sub. So both components work, they just aren't working with each other.

Check the speaker settings on the Sherwood - is the Sub Out set to on or off? Set your Klegg eggs to small all round and bass to Sub out (LFE)

The Sherwood is set for the Front, Centre & Rear as small. The subwoofer is set to yes. Unfortunately I still can't get any sound to the sub. I assume I don't need any special lead to link the pre-out on the amp to the input on the back of the subwoofer?

Which Klegg have you got the M6 or M8? The M6 you should have six phono leads connected from the low level outputs on the amp to the inputs on the sub. Do any of the channels work?

I have the M6. There is a 6-way lead with the subwoofer but I don't have any surround outputs on the amp except for the pre-out subwoofer. The only surround soud sockets on the amp are inputs not outputs.
