I've been thinking about getting a mixer for my birthday. On the Celebrity version of Great British Bakeoff they seemed to be using the Kenwood kMix. Seems to be getting good reviews on Amazon, or is it worth splashing out on a KitchenAid Artisan?

I would go with the kitchenaid, they are expensive, but worth it when you see how they are made and the quality of them.
You can get a coloured one for about £380 at selfridges
