Those with HCPCs should read this and weep, you can bet you life this will screw-up DVD playing on PC drives just like the protection [email protected] on CDs is doing ... and don't bet your standalone DVD player is safe either..

Sure, it says it's designed to mess-up transcoders but are you sure that's all it'll mess-up?

Its interesting for sure..... but there is bound to be a way around it. If it is so extreme to mess up pc playback altogether, it will mess it up on a great many other decks.... in other words, people just wouldnt buy the discs so the system would fail

The music industry seem to accept an amount of 'collateral damage' with buyers unable to play protected CDs in car players and some CE equipment, what makes you think the movie industry will be any different.

which is one reason why the minority end up spending time to make the discs play on what they have..... i.e. the protection employed actually gives some people pretty valid reason to have to hack the protection! Self defeating if you look at it that way

Thats pretty rich given that they invented the walkman, they make cd writers, dvd writers as well!

Stinking hypocrites.

With one hand they tell us to go out and buy these products to record said media, and with the other they slap us across the face for doing it!
