DP600 specs just released on their web site:

    http://www.kiss-technology.com/files/brochures/DP-600.pdf

    Wow !

The only supplier in the UK that I have manged to find that will be selling these are www.scan.co.uk but they are unable to give me any kind of notification when they come in stock in july.

Looks like we'll just have to keep checking their web site !

Unless anyone knows of any Kiss Technology sales people....

    Thanks

never looked at Kiss stuff before but would I be right in saying that they will play WM9 content (on discs like T2 Extreme) without looking for licences? or am I totally missing something :) (wouldn;t be any surprise there)

It sounds to me like it needs to be connected to a PC for the DRM stuff. On that PDF it certainly suggests that anyway.

    Cheers,
    Andy.

I have a KiSS 508 and bought it from amazon.co.uk! Maybe look there closer the 600 release date?

After a few teething problems and early firmwares, the KiSS players are actually very decent boxes...

I'm sure I saw something saying that the Kiss DP600 would have DVI out, but it's not listed on the .pdf
I can't really see the point of not offering DVI / HDMI on a hi-def capable player - perhaps it's just missed the spec sheet...

Personally I am not bothered about DVI connections as my projector doesnt have a DVI input. It does however have 5xcomponent inputs that work with HiDef 720p or 1080i resolutions (These work OK as I have tried them by direct connection to a PC and then using PowerStrip to set a 720p display).

Hopefully the DP600 will output 720p or 1080i via some kind of component output

    Still waiting for it !.......

HDMI is the replacement for DVI since HDMI supports both video and audio which you probably already knew. What you may not know is that you can buy cables (from Farnell anyway, maybe not from hifi shops yet) that convert from HDMI to DVI and visa versa.

Therefore, HDMI is backwards compatible with DVI on the video side of things only. So you can still get the benefits of digital video on DVI without having to buy a new TV to support your new HDMI output DVD player.

    Regards.
