Just bought one and got some kiddie games for my daughter. Is there anyway of her playing as a guest or dies she need her own gamertag?

If it's a game for more than one person you should be able to sign her in as a guest.

If she wants to play on her own you'll either have to let her use your profile or create a new one for her.
It one doesn't have to be a LIVE profile, it can just be an offline one.
Just dismiss to option to join LIVE when creating a new profile.

It's a long time since I created a profile. Do I need an extra hotmail address?

If your signed in to live just sign out then go across to create new profile choose your avatar then sign in with that avatar don't think you need an email address if your connecting the secondary profile to Xbox live

If you're creating an offline profile, when you choose to skip "join Xbox LIVE" you'll be skipping the need for a hotmail account.

Hotmail accounts are only needed for use with the LIVE service.

Doesn't have to be a hotmail email address, I use my @manx.net address with my xbox live/windows live accounts.
